gas processingProcess internals manufactured by AMACS are widely used in the gas processing and power industries.  Coal fired power plants have Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) process units that use large vane systems to reduce plant emissions while minimizing fouling and extending maintenance intervals.

Today, a large number of natural gas fired (clean fuel) power plants and LNG terminals are being constructed and older conventional coal fired facilities are being optimized to increase efficiency and reduce environmental impacts. Separation vessels use wire mesh pad units to eliminate liquid carry over into pipelines. When the inlet separator has particles that may foul a mesh unit, a vane unit is recommended.

High surface area fibers knitted over metal mesh create extremely efficient mist eliminators that are commonly used to reduce glycol and amine losses, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual operating expenses.

Dessicant and fired dryer loads and service life can also be greatly reduced by proper mist eliminator selection to remove the free water from the gas stream, reducing their drying job down to the total moisture content of the gas down to the required 7LB/ mmscfd pipeline specification.

Turbine fuel gas filter separators are another common application, with mesh-vane units preferred for fine micron removal. This helps to protect and extend turbine fuel nozzle tip performance. Turbines are also subject to wet steam wear damage on the trailing edge of the rotar blades which can be reduced by upgrading the mist elimination equipment in the steam feed knock out separator drums. Expander inlets and Expander exits also require liquid removal. Inlet drums to compressors and interstage knockouts are common applications for conventional mesh pads, and mesh-vane assemblies for high capacity are used in volume debottlenecking applications.
